Its a MOOSE!

Hey all,

So I have been wanting to put this post up all week, but today seemed perfect as today is the 1 year anniversary of my university roommates mom getting in an accident with a moose-and thankfully she is alive to tell the story. So this post is dedicated to you Donna!

Anyway, check out the moose page (under the mammals heading) to get all the information you need about moose. The first time I saw a moose was driving to Sudbury from the GTA. Somewhere along HWY 69, I look over into the forest and saw an animal, I literally said to my roommate (same one as mentioned above), ” I just saw a horse, or a camel…(long pause)…it was a moose!!!!” She told me to turn around, but I said no way.

If you want a place where you will be guaranteed to see moose, check out Algonquin Provincial Park. Great for wildlife viewing, and when I was doing field work there, we saw one every day-they are BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Enjoy and keep learning

About Sarrah

I am a wildlife biologist with a great passion for wildlife, including conservation and public educations. Through my years, I have come to realize many of peoples' concerns about wildlife has to do with a lack of knowledge about their behaviour and needs...this is where I think I can help.
